APR. Itís more than just the first three letters of April.
Okay, that was a little corny. But PRSA national has designated April as APR Month, and your Richmond chapter Accreditation committee thought it was a good time to remind you that Accreditation is within your reach this spring. We have set the schedule for our spring APR session, and we’re excited about seeing you start the process. PRSA national also has a number of activities scheduled during the month of April, including free, on-demand webinars on preparation for the Readiness Review, and a free online course Open House on April 24 for potential candidates. The online course is available year-round for those who either can’t or choose not to participate in group study sessions. It is $195, so participating in the April 24 Open House may be a good way to determine if it is a good fit for you.

Getting Ready for the Readiness Review
Your Richmond chapter has streamlined the accreditation process to make it less time intensive for Accreditation seekers and current APRs who participate in the process. There are two times each year during which we will schedule Readiness Reviews and follow up study sessions. Readiness Reviews will be conducted during one week in spring, and one week during the fall. This year, our spring Readiness Review panels will be conducted the week of May 29. Practitioners should let the Accreditation committee know that they are interested in pursuing accreditation and participating in an upcoming Readiness Review panel so that a mentor can be assigned to help them navigate the process.
Week of May 29 Readiness Review Panels will be held
June 5, 6 & 7 Exam study sessions/prep (Note: There will be a fee for attendance at these three sessions to cover the cost of dinner each night)
As always, we welcome your questions, comments and inquiries. For more information on the Accreditation process, and to determine whether now is the right time for you to pursue Accreditation through your Richmond chapter, visit http://www.praccreditation.org/becomeAPR/index.html.
