Dear PR professional:

 

Looking back over my early years in public relations, we continue to give thanks to those professionals who gave us an opportunity to learn about our industry through internships and other shadowing programs. Because of those opportunities, we found a career that we both love and respect. We recognize that many of us in the chapter have richly diverse backgrounds, not just in terms of race or ethnicity, but in education and our workplaces. We may not have all started our college careers in the communications field, but we now find ourselves in a profession that is ever-changing, and allows us to reach audiences that can be very different from us.

 

A number of local college students are expected to enroll in our chapter’s Student Connections shadowing program during the week of October 29-November 2. We are in need of PR professionals willing to allow students from local colleges such as VCU, VSU and University of Richmond, to shadow them at various times throughout the week. I would appreciate any amount of time you can provide.
