Event Description
Communicating Transformative Change
The word ‘change’ can cause fear, questions and concern for the internal and external audiences of an organization. As communicators, it is our job to successfully navigate our organization through the stormy waters of change while keeping everyone safely on board.
Over the past five years, one of Richmond’s best known cultural institutions, The Virginia Museum of Fine Arts (VMFA), underwent the largest expansion in its history. For four years the museum was quiet, poised for a major transformation of the entire organization. VMFA hired a new director, realigned it leadership team, underwent rebranding, and developed a communications and marketing campaign.
Join us to hear Chief Communications Officer Suzanne Hall discuss creating and implementing an effective change communications strategic plan. Suzanne will also share her strategy for the comprehensive rebranding of VMFA that included targeting local, national and international audiences. And in case you haven't yet been to one of the top ten comprehensive art museums in the nation, she will have some tantalizing pictures!
