Speaker Two Panels Featuring Senior PR Practitioners

Event Description

UPDATE

PRSA Richmond’s professional development program about “Leading Organizational Change” from 2-4:30 p.m. on June 24 has been cancelled. We apologize for any inconvenience but hope you’ll be able to join us for an expanded luncheon program about the same topic on June 24. If you pre-paid for the afternoon program, we will issue you a refund in the coming weeks.

The luncheon program will feature Michele A. Rhudy, APR, partner, Rhudy & Company Marketing & Communications, Inc., moderating remarks by Alisa Bailey, president and CEO, Virginia Tourism Corp., Lisa Olivia, vice president of public affairs, Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond, Lloyd Osgood, senior vice president of marketing and communications, Fidelity (formerly of Land America) and Judy Pahren, senior vice president of development and diversity, Capital One. These senior public relations practitioners will discuss how their organizations managed significant organizational and cultural change with both internal and external audiences and the role that communications/public relations played in that change.

Professional Development Session:
Leading Organizational Change

Corporations and organizations of all sizes are being challenged as never before by an economic downturn that coincides with fundamental global shifts in how both private and public sectors do business. Yours may be among them.

What to do?

Those organizations that are surviving these turbulent and uncertain times have responded by changing how they do business, how they interact with both internal and external publics, changing even the products and services they provide.   And their public relations counselors and staff are playing critical roles in their (hopefully successful) transformations.

Join PRSA Richmond for a professional development workshop on Wednesday, June 24 that features two panels of public relations practitioners who have been instrumental in helping their organizations successfully change identity, image, practices and even the products and services they produce.

Panel Descriptions
The first panel, “Leading Corporate Change,” features four senior public relations practitioners discussing the role public relations played in implementing major corporate change. Panelists include Brendan McCormick, vice president, corporate communications, of Altria Client Services; Lloyd Osgood, senior vice president of marketing and communications, of Fidelity (formerly of Land America); Judy Pahren, senior vice president of development and diversity, of Capital One, and Michele A. Rhudy, APR, partner, Rhudy & Company Marketing & Communications, Inc. Moderator of the panel will be Jennifer Scott, APR, president and principal, Touchpoints Public Relations.

The second panel, “Leading Change in the Not-for-Profit and Government Sectors,” features Cynthia Price, director of communications, Christian Children’s Fund (to become ChildFund International on July 1); Alisa Bailey, president and CEO, Virginia Tourism Corp., and Lisa Oliva, vice president of public affairs, Richmond Federal Reserve Bank. Panel moderator will be Brian Chandler, APR, Virginia Blood Services.

Register for the luncheon program that immediately precedes the professional development session
The June luncheon will also feature Rhudy, Osgood and Bailey discussing leading organizational change.  Rhudy will moderate a panel consisting of Osgood and Bailey discussing how their organizations managed significant organizational and cultural change with both internal and external audiences, and the role that communications/public relations played in that change.

Separate registration and payment is required. Go to the event link for the luncheon program now.
