How to be a Fortune 100 Best Company

Richmond, VA September 14, 2006 -- PRSA Richmond's upcoming lunch meeting on Wednesday, September 27 at the Sheraton Richmond West Hear from Trina Lee and Lisa Van Riper about what it takes to become a Fortune 100 Best Company. Carmax has been on this coveted list for the past two years--the only company in Central Virginia to earn that distinction. Learn about the entry process, the company culture that Fortune looks for, and the importance of internal and external public relations during the process. Trina and Lisa will also share some fun stories about the whole experience.

CarMax, a Fortune 500 company and one of the Fortune 2006 "100 Best Companies to Work For," is the nation's largest retailer of used cars. With headquarters in Richmond, Va., CarMax currently operates 71 used car superstores in 34 markets. CarMax also operates seven new car franchises, all of which are integrated or co-located with its used car superstores. During the twelve month period ended May 31, 2006, the company retailed 300,011 used cars, which is 94 percent of the total 320,255 vehicles retailed during that period.

The program will be held on Wednesday, September 27, at the Sheraton Richmond West hotel, 6624 West Broad Street, Richmond.  Registration for the luncheon program begins at 11:45 a.m., and the luncheon begins at 12:15 p.m.  There is no lunch charge for PRSA Richmond members, a $15 charge for students and a $30 charge for non-members and guests.  Lunch fees are payable at the door with cash or check to PRSA Richmond.  To register, contact Sara Hunt at (804) 915-1331 or e-mail prsarichmond@comcast.net.
