Earning Trust, Building Loyalty

Richmond, VA October 17, 2006 -- PRSA Richmond's upcoming lunch meeting on Wednesday, October 25 at the Sheraton Richmond West will feature Robert (Bobby) S. Ukrop sharing his insights on “Earning Trust, Building Loyalty.”

Bobby is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Ukrop's Super Markets Inc.  He started on the payroll part-time at 14 as a courtesy clerk and began his career at Ukrop's after earning his undergraduate degree in 1969 from the University of Richmond, where he served as a member of the Board of Trustees for 18 years.  Though Bobby worked in the family business growing up, he became intimately involved in the success of the company when he became a store manager in 1972 after receiving his MBA from the Darden School at the University of Virginia.

Since its founding as a small market by Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Ukrop, Ukrop's has grown to include 27 retail food stores, a regional specialty store, Joe's Market, a central bakery and kitchen, a distribution center and First Market Bank.  In tribute to its 5,500 associates, Ukrop's is honored to have been recognized as one of the top companies to work for by Fortune Magazine from 2000 - 2004.

The program will be held on Wednesday, October 25, at the Sheraton Richmond West hotel, 6624 West Broad Street, Richmond.  Registration for the luncheon program begins at 11:45 a.m., and the luncheon begins at 12:15 p.m.  There is no lunch charge for PRSA Richmond members, a $15 charge for students and a $30 charge for non-members and guests.  Lunch fees are payable at the door with cash or check to PRSA Richmond.  To register, contact Sara Hunt at (804) 915-1331 or e-mail prsarichmond@comcast.net.
