PRSA Richmond Members Offer Volunteer PR Support

to an Area Organization

Richmond Nonprofits May Apply to Receive Public Relations Assistance from Local Society

Richmond, VA – Members of the Richmond Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America’s (PRSA) Public Service Committee will offer a Richmond-area nonprofit organization support in promoting an event, project or ongoing mission.  The committee members, made up of practicing marketing and public relations professionals, are volunteering their time and talents to assist with this one-time community service project.

There are three criteria for organizations seeking assistance.  Organizations must be registered 501(c)(3) nonprofits that need public relations assistance with a specific 2007 venture, and have no professional public relations staff.

Organizations seeking public relations assistance must submit a one-page application explaining the scope and requirements of the project.  Organizations are encouraged to submit supporting documents to further illustrate their needs.  Completed applications may be mailed to: Tamra Talmadge-Anderson, Virginia Tourism Corporation, 901 East Byrd Street, Richmond, VA 23219, or faxed to 804-545-5501.  The application deadline is Monday, March 26, 2007.  The selected organization will be notified by March 30, 2007.

For an application, nonprofit organizations may contact Tamra Talmadge-Anderson at 804-545-5573 or email ttanderson@virginia.org.

The Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Richmond Chapter is a professional association serving Central Virginia public relations practitioners.  PRSA Richmond was created in 1995 through the merger of two long-established and respected regional organizations, the Richmond Public Relations Association and the Old Dominion Chapter PRSA.  The Richmond chapter and the national organization, PRSA, mark more than a half-century of bringing professionals together to enhance the practice, to provide an exchange of experiences and ideals, and to promote professional development.
