The Press is Calling - And the News Isn't Good

Richmond—While most people spent New Year’s Day 2006 making resolutions, Cynthia Price of the City of Richmond Police Department spent the day dealing with one of the most violent days in decades. By the end of the day, two area families had been murdered, and Richmond started the year with seven unsolved homicides.

Price will speak to PRSA Richmond members and guests about this tragic day will share insights on how the Richmond Police responded to this public relations crisis and what lessons were learned. Since 1998, Price has overseen the image of the Richmond Police Department by managing crisis and day-to-day communications. She also is a member of the senior command staff and is involved with policy and other key issues within the department.

PRSA Richmond (www.prsarichmond.org) is a professional association serving Central Virginia public relations practitioners. The chapter and the national organization share the vision to unify, strengthen and advance the profession of public relations. Monthly luncheons are held on the last Wednesday of the month. Registration is required and the luncheon begins at 11:45 at the Sheraton Richmond West Hotel. The cost is $30 for non-members. To register for the lunch or for more information, contact prsarichmond@comcast.net.
