Members Connect with Over 50 Students
PRSA Richmond members took part in the chapter’s annual Student Connections Week, Oct. 19-23.
During the week, PRSA members connected with area students interested in public relations and the communications field. Practitioners met their mentees for coffee, lunch or shadowing.
“Student demand for this program is always high,” said Casey Ferguson, PRSA Richmond student relations chair. “We are so thankful to all the members who took the time out of their busy schedules to be matched with students.”
Approximately 50 matches were made, and more than 25 students attended the October luncheon. In addition, Virginia State University, which is working toward establishing a PRSSA chapter on campus, had its highest turnout yet – 20 percent of the connections and approximately 65 percent of the student attendees at the luncheon were VSU students.
