College students interested in a career in public relations should participate with their campus PRSSA chapter if one is available and also begin to participate in their local PRSA chapter, in preparation for membership as a professional.
Richmond PRSA offers many opportunities and programs designed to engage college students in the area.
PRSA Richmond sponsors a Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) chapter at James Madison University, Longwood University, Virginia Commonwealth University and Virginia State University. PRSA Richmond works with those institutions, as well as other area colleges with communications classes, to enrich the educational experiences of those studying to enter the field.
Monthly Chapter Luncheons
Students are invited to attend PRSA Richmond’s monthly luncheons at a reduced rate of $15 per person. Luncheon programs feature expert guest speakers and offer great opportunities to network with public relations professionals. Advance online registration is required.
Students can request to be paired with a PRSA Richmond member to help with introductions and networking. Students may specify an interest in pairing with a professional from a particular sector or area of practice.
